Voiceovers are solid, though I found the animation was a little stiff (at least in this one, saw your video on Youtube and was left with a better impression of your skills as an animator), and was just entertained with the rather mundane concept of people getting ready for a party. You pulled it off somehow and managed to make me want to come back and see what's gunna happen next for these people.

Hope to see more.

Thanks for the feedback

Im really glad you enjoyed, and I will be making an honest effort to have both more fluidity in the animation and more detail in the environments!

I'm not personally a huge fan of sprite animation as one's primary method. The reason for that being that it's not yours. I can't really tell anything about your style based upon a sprite. Namely because I could do it, she can do it, he can do it, everybody can do it. It's uninventive.
That said, this was entertaining and you definitely have a hand for it.
If you choose to continue this method of animation and get better then right on! That's your knack and you're free to pursue it. But in my opinion you should open yourself up to a new styles and develop something different.

- I would do 3D animation but I don't have a strong enough computer for all that work, plus theres school so my time is cut by Seven hours.
- As for this animation in general, I tried to imitate what I see in movies, I'm guessing it didn't go too well :( . Well imma try out modeling with blender and if I see any spark (I don't seem to improve any farther in my drawing skills than what you see in my art, but animations and games are all I really have in my life so imma fight on.

Well put together and humbling. Way to remind us that we are not Picasso or the next Miyazaki in terms of our art or how good we perceive it. All of us draw influence and create (lets face it) complete shit in the beginning. However... the greats understand that and do not give up because of it.
The actresses nonchalance in her delivery and the soundtrack both fit the "who gives a shit" theme perfectly.
One of the most honest animations I've seen here. Thank you for this.

I understand that you have a what is supposed to be a deep and heartfelt story in your head. I also understand that English is not your 1st language. Any sort of message or exposition you delivered in the beginning is simply overshadowed by your obvious lack of finesse of the English language. It's a constant in this series and has been detrimental. Additionally, it took too long, the green text felt out of place (strangely) and the text appeared out of order. I'll say it again: get someone who can improve the grammar for you. It would hurt nothing.
Also, the exposition in the beginning had nothing to do with the visuals it seemed like. It almost seems like you are putting in these ambiguous scenes for the sake of adding "beauty" when the truth is they're senseless. And the animation remains stiff, although the buck and the wolfs running loop was actually not bad.
Truthfully, I am a bit lost. I want these episodes to be a nice watch but this one simply wasn't. The individual plot made no sense, even in the grand scheme of your atmospheric tale. You have mood. But you don't have a plot. And without a plot, you have nothing. Please work on ways to deliver a story without words. It's hard work, but there are many ways to do it.
I don't mean to be blunt. But I like this concept and want to see it improved upon. Unfortunately this episode was a step back.

Thematically this animation was rich. Clearly the philosophies behind the story are well though out and understood by its author (you!). I love the aspect of the main character losing touch with which "her" is the one she can identify as, as is the case of coming of age.
The voice acting was superb and the use of silence added a sense of eeriness and emptiness fitting the themes and tone snugly.
My only real gripe was that the animation itself was rather simple and stiff at times. But because it was a student project and the message within was carefully planned out, it's easy to forgive.
Overall, an animation with substance. Excellent work!

Thanks for the thoughtful review and critique! :)

The animation was a little stiff, but the content was full of heart. I hope you and your mother have a wonder mothers day!

Thank you! You too!

No voice acting is far superior to bad voice acting. But trust us pal, you need to find a voice actor or actress for the voices. Computer generated ones are simply a no-go in most cases.
Regardless, this was a step up from the last outing. The music selection is good and the extra scenes were certainly more helpful in understanding what's happening.

Again, looking forward to your improvement. But PLEASE, take our suggestions into account. Ditch the computer voice and give it a human touch!

So I have no doubt in my mind that your story has potential. I am quite curious as to where you are leading us. This is your first episode and you deserve the benefit of the doubt. You'll improve with each consecutive episode...
But here's what need to improve. You should get voice actors rather than that computer generated voice. It's tacked on and completely sucks one out of the video. And the dialogue... I'm assuming English is your second language? You should have an English speaking colleague review your lines for you and correct your grammar. It seriously detracts from the video.
The animation feels a little stiff... But it's your first video. You will inevitably improve.
In a nutshell, there's potential. But the audio needs to be addressed.
Looking forward to your next video so we can see your improvement!

Entertaining animation throughout. And your sense of humor is to be admired. Nice work to you and your team!

mattyburrito responds:

Thank you for watching! :) Were so glad you like it!

Congrats on the #1 spot for the day. You're animation style earned it, aside from the subject matter. Very smooth, squishy, organic. Great job!

RetroSleep responds:

Thanks! This is my first 1st place so I'm really exited about it.
